MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Directs Strict Action For Crimes Against Women
A high number of crimes against women have been found in the state recently, which has prompted this move.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a special meeting today and directed officers that perpetrators of crimes against women must be unmasked and punished. He also added that the police forces in Indore and Bhopal are doing good work in this department. These remarks have come due to the recent spate of crimes that have surfaced in the state. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister is also supposed to meet his cabinet for a meeting today.
The state of Madhya Pradesh is all set to host by-polls in September this year. Sunil Arora, the Chief Election Commissioner of India, has said that these elections will take place as planned despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The by-polls hold importance for the BJP as they only have 107 out of the 230 assembly seats in their kitty right now. To form an absolute majority, the party would require 116 MLAs, which could become a hard task if the Congress succeeds in beating them.
