Watch an episode from Kadambini below:
1. Play Games Which Involve Numbers
This is one of the most fun and engaging ways to strengthen your mathematics skills. Try playing numerical games which involve problem solving, like Sudoku and Prodigy that you can easily find online. Once you start seeing the fun in maths, you will not be half as daunted anymore! What’s more, playing mathematical games will develop your knack for numbers drastically.
2. First Understand The Concepts
Before jumping right into solving the maths problems that you have been assigned, make sure you understand the main concept. Take a moment to study and review it before tackling the problems head on. Kadambini was fortunate to have a great maths teacher– Dwarakanath Ganguly himself, who encouraged her to face her fears of the subject and surmount them. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your teacher or someone who is good at maths for help!
3. Practice Is Key
To become good at maths, you need to put in the time and effort. Practice makes perfect as they say, and only when you have attempted enough problems will you be able to ace it! The more you practise, the easier the subject will become. Form the habit of practising maths everyday, and you are sure to improve rapidly. Dwarakanath Ganguly also doled out this valuable piece of advice to Kadambini, who tried to incorporate it into her schedule immediately.
4. Apply Maths To Real Life
The reason we learn mathematics is because it is so useful! You are bound to be faced with situations in life where you need to think on your feet and crunch numbers! Be it when you are shopping for groceries or calculating how much time you need to complete a task, math is everywhere in real life!
