Meghna Gulzar is a screenwriter, filmmaker, and producer from India. She is the child of Gulzar, a songwriter and poet, and Raakhee, a renowned actress. Meghna helmed her first film, the melodrama Filhaal, after making her screenwriting debut with her father’s directorial debut, Hu Tu Tu, in 1999. Meghna has now been an inspiration to many aspiring filmmakers. Talvar


Talvar is a suspense drama film helmed by Meghna Gulzar and scripted by Vishal Bhardwaj that was released in India in 2015. The film is based on a double murder case that occurred in Noida in 2008 featuring a teen female and her family’s caregiver. The movie, which stars Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Neeraj Kabi, recounts the inquiry of a crime from three separate angles, wherein her parents are pronounced guilty or not guilty of killing accusations by the police. Meghna depicted the event in her trademark style, giving the audience shivers as they watched the film.

Raazi


Raazi is an espionage thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar and presented by Dharma Productions that was released in 2018. Alia plays the lead in the film, which also has Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapur, Shishir Sharma, and Jaideep Ahlawat in secondary parts. The movie is based on the novel Calling Sehmat, which is modeled on true events of an Indian spy marrying a Pakistani Officer to transmit data to India before the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. Meghna’s directorial work gained critical acclaim and numerous honors across the country. Chhapaak

Chhapaak is a factual drama film centered on the story of acid assault survivor Laxmi Agarwal that was released in India in 2020. Vikrant Massey, and Madhurjeet Sarghi feature starring Deepika Padukone in the lead part of a character inspired by Agarwal in Meghna Gulzar’s film. Meghna has once again proven her directorial abilities, as there will not be a single woman who does not weep while watching this film.
