Massive Crowd Welcomes Sachin Pilot As He Returns To Jaipur
The former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan returned to his residence after a month-long crisis with the state government
After his month-long rebellion against Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the state’s former Deputy Chief Minister, Sachin Pilot finally returned to his residence in Jaipur yesterday. He was welcomed with loud cheers and fireworks by his party workers and supporters.
Addressing the Gehlot government, Pilot said that he was ready to embrace everyone but would continue to call out any wrongdoings by the party. He further added that he reserved commenting on hurtful allegations by the Rajasthan CM in the past due to being in the public eye and hence, under continuous scrutiny.
Meanwhile, the powerful 69-year-old Gehlot stood tall through the crisis with full support from his ministers. He also spoke to the media and assured peace within the party and showed confidence in winning the upcoming elections.
Before Pilot had returned to Jaipur, three more MLAs had renewed their support to the Congress government.
The drama that ensued between the two politicians went through multiple stages. It was finally resolved after Pilot met former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, before leaving Delhi. He agreed to work in the interest of the party and the government in the state.
