Manoj Muntashir Wants Priyanka Chopra Jonas To Play Maratha Queen Ahilyabai Holkar

Global sensation Priyanka Chopra Jonas has captured hearts left, right and centre. Whether it’s with her incredible fashion sense, her exceptional acting or her exotic beauty, the actress has always managed to keep her audience captivated. Looks like lyricist Manoj Muntashir couldn’t escape her charms either. According to recent reports, Manoj Muntashir wants Priyanka Chopra to play the lead in his upcoming venture as a producer.

Lyricist of the iconic song, Teri Mitti from Kesari, Manoj Muntashir is soon planning to turn producer. He will be seen backing the biopic of the great Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar. The film is titled ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi’ and will focus on the iconic queen and her contribution to the nation. Although the casting of the film is yet underway, Manoj Muntashir has expressed his desire to cast actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the leading lady of the film. This was inspired by Priyanka’s incredible portrayal of Kashibai in the film Bajirao Mastani, where she did complete justice to the character. Manoj has said that once the script is ready, they will definitely approach the actress for the role. However, Priyanka hasn’t reacted to any of this yet.

Manoj in a conversation with leading media houses has mentioned that when we think of women freedom fighters of the nation, Rani Laxmibai is the first name that comes to our mind. But Rani Ahilyabai Holkar has also contributed a lot, especially towards building various Hindu temples including the rebuilding of the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Moreover, after the death of her husband and father-in-law, Ahilyabai is the one who took over the affairs of the Holkar family and even lead armies to protect her people. It will be interesting to see Priyanka play the role of this epic Maratha queen if she agrees.

On the work front, Manoj Muntashir is currently seen on the latest season of Indian Idol on Sony Network as one of the judges. The lyricist has added his own flavour to the show with his heartwarming shaayaris. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas who was last seen in ‘The White Tiger’ has quite a few projects lined up for her including, the fourth instalment of the ‘Matrix’ films, American romantic drama titled ‘Text For You’, Barry Levinson’s ‘Sheela’, Prime Video’s thriller series ‘Citadel’ and more.
