During his monthly Mann Ki Baat feature, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the 26 January violence in Delhi, calling the desecration of the Indian flag a sad day for the country. He spoke about the tractor rallyists dishonouring the route chalked out by the city’s police and storming into the Red Fort.

In his maiden 2021 address, Modi hailed India’s Coronavirus vaccination drive as the largest globally. Pointing out that it is a year since the nation has been fighting against the deadly virus, he revealed that 30 lakh Corona warriors have already been immunised in the last 15 days, hailing India as the fastest to inoculate its citizens. Calling the country Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) in its field of medicines, he proudly spoke about the delivery of the indigenous dosages to Brazil. With its two approved vaccine candidates, the Modi government has set its eyes on vaccinating at least 30 crore people by July 2021.

The prime minister also used the platform to congratulate the Indian cricket team for its historic Gabba victory against Australia earlier this year.

Apart from this, the 70-year-old leader applauded the four Indian women pilots who became the first in their category to fly a direct plane from San Francisco to Bengaluru.
