Major Terror Attack Averted As Delhi Police Arrests Two Jaish-e-Mohammad Terrorists
The two men were arrested from the Sarai Kale Khan area in the capital yesterday night by a special cell of the Delhi police
The Delhi Police’s special cell arrested two terrorists yesterday. The militants are allegedly aligned to the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror outfit and were in the capital to carry out a big attack around the Diwali festive season.
The residents of Jammu and Kashmir were intercepted in the Sarai Kale Khan area in East Delhi at around 10.15 pm last night. Identified as Abdul Latif Mir and Mohammad Ashraf, they were carrying pistols and cartridges which were seized by the authorities. They are currently under interrogation. Both the youth are said to be in their early twenties.
The festival time is a soft spot for militants as they target crowded areas and hotspots where people venture out to purchase finery. Famous markets like Lajpat Nagar and Sarojini Nagar have been the target of massive bomb blasts in the past.
The Delhi police is carrying out multiple raids to unearth more Jaish-e-Mohammad members from the capital.
