Mahesh Babu disappointed some of his fans by endorsing a tobacco brand

Actors are often held to high standards and expected to be role models and so when Telugu super star Mahesh Babu was seen endorsing, along side Bollywood actor, Tiger Shroff, a tobacco brand, some of his fans expressed their dissatisfaction with it.

Netizens took to Twitter to write how they are surprised by Mahesh Babu endorsing a tobacco brand, questioning the actor on why he agreed to doing so.

Celebrities endorsing brands for money is nothing new but some of his fans commented saying that celebrities get huge amounts of money to endorse brands and, tend to endorse any and every product irrespective if it sends out a wrong message or not. Some commented that Mahesh Babu should stop endorsing such brands if he is a socially responsible person.

The actor’s meteoric rise to fame was due to super hits like Okkadu, Athadu, Pokiri and Murari. He has won a slew of awards like Filmfare, South Indian International movie awards. Mahesh Babu has completed 21 years in the Telugu film industry last year. He is married to popular heroine Namrata Shirodkar.

Despite his fame, Mahesh usually does not attend movie launches, keeping a low profile.
