The urge for clicking selfies turned treacherous for two Madhya Pradesh girls after they were stuck in the middle of swollen waters of the Pench river. The girls had walked over to a rock in the middle of the river for clicking selfies when water began to rise and they couldn’t go back. Police officials, with the help of locals, were able to rescue the girls to safety. The rescue operation was caught on camera and the video shows how tumultuous the waters of the river were.

The incident took place in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh where the girls had gone for a picnic with a group. Others from the group reportedly alerted the locals who then informed the authorities. The rescue operation of the two girls took around one hour. The heavy flow of the Pench river due to the recent rains had turned the situation into a life-threatening one, but thankfully the danger was thwarted by the swift action of the authorities involved.
