Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Outfit Has Got Besties Kareena Kapoor Khan And Malaika Arora Thinking
The Met Gala event brought the biggest celebrities in their glory onto the walking carpet. However, Kim Kardashian caught everyone’s attention.
The beauty mogul and American socialite Kim Kardashian arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, covered from head to toe in black fabric. Not an inch of her skin was visible; only her long ponytail hung behind her head.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan is intrigued by Kim’s Met Gala outfit. Taking to her Instagram stories, the 40-year-old actress shared a picture of Kim and Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia, who accompanied her on the red carpet in a similar, all-black outfit. She asked what was happening and added the cringe-face emoji.
On the other hand, Kareena’s best friend and model, Malaika Arora, had a similar reaction. Sharing the same picture Malaika too asked what was going on. Both the divas of Bollywood shared the same dilemma on the American reality star’s fashion pick.
The invitation-only gala is a fundraising benefit for New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. It also marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibition, which is titled In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.
Kim Kardashian had donned a similar outfit while promoting her ex-husband Kanye West’s new album, Donda. Some fans speculate that she was promoting Kanye’s new album at the Met.
Met Gala was delayed from its usual scheduled date on the first Monday in May as the gala was canceled last year due to the pandemic. This year’s official fundraiser theme for the museum’s costume Institute was ‘American Independence,’ which left plenty of room for interpretation.
While the gathering was about a third smaller than usual, with around 300 guests, people attending it were asked for proof of vaccination. However, the attendees were not wearing masks while posing for pictures.
Kim Kardashian’s outfit could easily be termed as the most shocking of the night. The gala also saw celebrities like Ben Affleck with Jennifer Lopez, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Alexandra Ocasio Cortez, and Camila Cabello.
