Karan Johar To Cast An ‘Outsider’ In Dostana 2 To End Nepotism Debate

As per the reports, Karan Johar wishes to replace Kartik Aryan with an outsider in Dostana 2 thereby ending its nepotism debate.

Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar has been in the news lately due to his upcoming film Dostana 2. A few weeks back, it was announced that this film is going to get recast. This decision was taken following the departure of actor Kartik Aaryan from the film. After his exit, it was speculated that actor Akshay Kumar will be replacing him in the movie. As per the reports, Karan Johar has decided that he wants to end the long-ranging debate on nepotism. He plans to do so by now casting an ‘outsider’ in the film. He reportedly discussed the cast with the creative team and director as well. After discussion, Akshay Kumar, Rajkumar Rao, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Siddhant Chaturvedi have made it to the list. Reports also suggest that Johar is rooting for Akshay Kumar to sign the film.

With these names, Karan is trying to put an end to the ‘insider vs. outsider debate’. Karan has been linked to ‘nepotism’ for a very long time now and he wants it to get over with this film. That is why Karan Johar wants Akshay Kumar to be a part of his film. Akshay does not hail from a filmy background and is one of the leading actors of Bollywood.

As per the reports, if Akshay Kumar does not sign the film, then other actors on the list will be approached. So far, no names have been finalized. Other members of the cast include Jahnvi Kapoor and  Laksh Lalwani. The storyline reportedly revolves around a brother-sister duo who fall in love with the same person. The director of the film is Collin D’Cunha and it will be produced under the banner of Dharma Productions.
