Kamala Harris’ Aunt Shares How Their Family Is Happy And Proud Of Her
Kamala Harris’ aunt, Dr Sarala Gopalan shares her happiness on Kamala’s success.
Many Indians rejoiced as Joe Biden was elected as the new President of the United States. And the reason for their excitement was the new Vice President who would be sworn in – Kamala Harris. Being partly Indian and having her roots in the country, she became one of the icons for all the Indians.
Kamala Harris is set to make history as the first female Vice President in the United States. Not only that, but she will also be the first woman of colour to rise to that position in the US.
Kamala Harris’s aunt, Dr Sarla Gopalan, in a short interview with India Today, shared some things about Kamala. She said “It is indeed a proud moment for our entire family. We are all happy. And we always knew she could do it. She is very capable.”
Dr Gopalan also said, “Kamala has worked hard. Her mother pushed her a lot to work hard for herself. She is very intelligent and hard-working. Whatever she has got, is with her own effort. And she is like a daughter to me. I don’t see her as a politician. Even now, I’m praying that the ceremony goes well and I wish her all the luck.”
Kamala Harris is expected to not go soft on issues like human rights after she has sworn in and begun her work. Political analysts say that the relation between India and America will continue to remain good.
