Johns Hopkins University Sues Trump Administration Over New US Visa Rule
After Harvard and MIT, Johns Hopkins is the latest university to take legal action against the US President
After renowned institutions like Harvard and MIT, Johns Hopkins has now become the latest university to sue the Trump administration over its new visa rules for foreign students. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, US President Donald Trump announced a new set of rules for foreign students which has created problems for them across universities. According to the new rules, students need to register for in-person classes to remain in America. If they fail to do so, they risk losing their visa and being sent back to their home country.
The United States of America has the largest student population across the globe, but this new rule will put the education of thousands of students at risk. Johns Hopkins University President Ronald Daniels said that the administration’s decision is gratuitous, cruel, and inimical to what the country is about.
