J&K: Encounter Breaks Out Between Security Forces And Terrorists In Budgam
The Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted stating that an encounter has started at Chrar-i-Sharief area of Budgam and security forces are on the job.

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Chrar-i-Sharief of Budgam in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening (September 21). The gun battle between the terrorists and security personnel is still underway. More details in this regard are awaited. The Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted on Monday stating, “Encounter has started at Chrar-i-Sharief area of Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.” One unidentified terrorist has been neutralised by the security forces in the ongoing encounter on Tuesday (September 22).
Notably, the gun battle between the terrorists and the security personnel started on Monday evening after the security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation. This had followed after receiving information about the presence of militants in the Nawad area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam, a police official said. He said the security forces maintained a tight cordon of the area throughout the night and the gunfight resumed this morning. In the exchange of fire, a militant was killed, the official said.
