JEE Exams Begin Today At 660 Centres Countrywide; Safety Measures In Place
The authorities have ensured social distancing, wearing masks, temperature checks and sanitisation is carried out at every exam centre.
The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) had been postponed twice due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The exam, which is mandatory for admissions in top engineering colleges in the country will commence today with all necessary safety measures. According to the sources, around 660 centres have been set up across the country and will go on till September 6. Several political parties and students opposed the government’s decision of conducting the JEE exam, however, the government firmly stood by its decision.
The centre authorities ensured that all safety measures like social distancing of up to 2 feet, wearing masks, temperature check and sanitisation were practised at the centres. Also, sources state that there will be restrictions on the number of students allotted per classroom. A total of 9,53,000 students have registered themselves for the JEE exam this year.
