Yoshihide Suga, who is the Prime Minister of Japan, recently made his way to the United States of America. He landed in Washington, prior to an upcoming summit that the United States of America’s President Joe Biden and he are supposed to hold together soon. Both the leaders, Biden and Suga are set to present their united front about the lands of Taiwan. The duo will also discuss the relentless ill-treatment of Uighur minority Muslims by Beijing, China at the summit, and Beijing’s influence over Hong Kong.
Additionally, Joe Biden and Yoshihide Suga are also expected to make announcements of a Japanese investment worth two billion dollars in 5G telecommunication services in order to counter China’s Huawei technologies. This will also be the first time that Biden and Suga meet each other in person with it being Biden’s first in-person meeting with another world leader as the POTUS. Biden’s decision to meet with an Asian leader for his first in-person meeting also sends a strong message to China that the U.S. is closely working with allies. China will obviously be the key subject of conversation at the upcoming summit, especially its severe human rights violation matters.
