Israel Officials Set To Visit UAE With Trump Aides Next Week
UAE recently became the third Arab state to recognize Israel.
Top officials from the United States are all set to escort an Israeli delegation into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) early next week. This will be the first-ever commercial flight between the two states and it is facilitated by US-brokered ties between the two nations. This made UAE only the third Arab nation to recognize Israel, after Jordan and Egypt. The deal has been met with heavy criticism from Palestinians who have called it the latest “betrayal” of their cause by an Arab state.
Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu has said that his country’s delegation will be accompanied by White House Senior Advisor, Jared Kushner, National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and US Middle East envoy Avi Berkowitz, among others. On the agenda will be negotiations on details like opening embassies and establishing trade and travel links. The US and Israeli officials will fly on board an Israeli airliner directly from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi.
