Is Pakistan Lying About India’s Willingness To Engage In Bilateral Peace Talks?
In an interview to an Indian channel, Pakistan official Moeed Yusuf called for the restoration of Article 370 in Kashmir and said that he wants to talk peace and Kashmir with India
An official from the Pakistan government claimed that India called on Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to explore peace talks. There has been no such confirmation from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs of any such initiative.
In an interview to an Indian media channel, Moeed W Yusuf referred to himself as the Pakistani counterpart of Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Yusuf criticized the Narendra Modi government’s decision to revoke Article 370 in Kashmir, adding that the Kashmiris hate Indians and that this step is a matter worthy of the United Nations’ interference. He called for the rollback of the new law and equated the current situation in J&K to a military siege.
In the telecast that went on for more than an hour, the Imran Khan loyalist said that he is open to talks with India on terrorism and the Kashmir issue. He further said that his country stands for peace and would like to adopt a non-violent route going forward.
