Is MS Dhoni Set For A Political Career After Retirement?
Former Indian captain ended his illustrious 16-year long international career recently.
After years of speculation over his retirement by the media, MS Dhoni finally made his announcement in a somber manner, retiring after a 16-year long international career that saw him win three ICC trophies for India, the most for any captain in the world. But has the closing of one door opened up another for the ace cricketer? Speculations are rife that the former Indian captain is poised for a political career in his second innings.
Sources say that the BJP is planning on bringing MS Dhoni on board for campaigning in Jharkhand. It should be noted that his older brother Narendra Singh Dhoni, had joined the BJP in 2009 before switching sides and joining the Samajwadi Party in 2013. Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Amit Shah had met the former Indian captain during BJP’s Sampark for Samarthan campaign. However, no official confirmation about Dhoni’s political plans have come from the horse’s mouth yet. He will be seen playing in this year’s IPL that’s taking place in the UAE.
