The official Twitter handle of IPL has revealed that this year, IPL auction will be held on February 18 in Chennai. Reports also reveal details regarding how to watch the auction live, how much money is available with various teams etc. Soon after the India v/s England test series comes to an end on February 17, the IPL auction will commence the very next day. Previously all the IPL auctions used to be held in Bengaluru but in the year 2019, the auction took place in Kolkatta. This year, it is going to take place in Chennai. Reports suggest that during the second test match, all the BCCI officials, members of the IPL governing council and the owners of various IPL franchises will reach Chennai for the auctions.

How much money is available with IPL teams?

Here’s a look at how much money is left with various IPL teams – Kings XI Punjab has the maximum amount of money Rs 53.2 crore, Royal Challengers Bangalore has Rs 35.9 crore whereas Rajasthan Royals has Rs 34.85 crore. Reports claim that Kolkata Knight Riders and Sun Risers Hyderabad have the same amount of money Rs 10.75 crore. Chennai Super Kings has Rs 22.9 crore and Delhi Capitals has Rs 12.9 crore. Former champion Mumbai Indians has Rs 15.35 crore.

Reports claim that 139 players have been retained by the IPL teams this time whereas 57 players have been released for the auction. Sun Risers Hyderabad has retained a maximum number of 22 players followed by Rajasthan Royals who have retained 12 players. As per the reports, the list of those players who wish to be a part of the auctions is going to be released soon.

How to watch the IPL auction LIVE?

Reports reveal the IPL auction will commence at 3:30 pm on February 18. The telecasting rights of IPL are with Star and this year too, the auction will be aired live on Star Sports. The auction can be viewed on both television and mobile phone.
