IPL Auction 2021: Harbhajan Singh And Kedar Jadhav To Have Takers For Their Brand And Experience?
Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav will probably have takers at IPL auction 2021 due to their brand value and experience. Have a look at the details here.
The IPL 2021 auction is all set to happen on February 18, 2021, and cricket enthusiasts are quite elated to witness what the teams will end up with. A recent panel discussion with leading journalists and a few experts revealed that the brand value also holds a place in the auction. One of the panelists, Mustafa Ghouse, was of the stance that such discussions only happen when there is a considerable gap between the auction and the actual tournament date. Since the auctions are now delayed, it is not possible to keep the brand value as a priority. He also confirmed that it is a part of the discussion table and sometimes teams like Delhi would like to have Delhi-based players in the team to keep the spirit intact. However, the most important factor is always the gameplay and what the players have to offer on the field.
Here is a look at the ZEE5 video with details related to the auction and the deciding factors that matter:
The IPL 2021 auctions have been the talk of the town ever since they were announced a few months back. The auctions, on Thursday, will majorly decide the fate of the teams that will be a part of the IPL game this year. According to the video attached above, some teams also decide to go for brand value as it brings in sponsors and subsequently helps in making money. Teams like Punjab Kings XI have ₹53.2 crores to spend and have been looking forward to filling up 9 slots and five overseas options. This team also has high chance of picking Harbhajan Singh, who has a base price of ₹2 crores.
According to Deep Dasgupta, there will be a high value for veteran players like Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav, who bring a lot of experience to the table. These players will have takers not just for their brand name but also for their strong game and understanding of the strategy. He also added that India does not have too many middle-order players and hence, Kedar Jadhav will be in demand for his position.
