Chennai Super Kings played against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 28, 2021. Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the team lost against Chennai Super Kings. Here are 3 major reasons why Hyderabad lost the match against CSK.

3 Reasons why Sunsisers Hyderabad lost 

Reason 1: David Warner struggled to change gears

Skipper David Warner and Jonny Bairstow opened the innings. Jonny lost his wicket in the fourth over after scoring only 7 runs. David Warner scored 57 runs off 55 balls. He managed to only score 4 boundaries and 2 sixes in the match. Even though, he managed to score a half-century, he couldn’t score enough runs in the delivered balls. His run rate throughout the same was 103.64.

Reason 2: Chennai Super Kings opening batsmen dominated Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis opened the second innings. The two had an extremely strong partnership and managed to score well for the team. Ruturaj scored 75 runs off 44 balls. He also scored 12 boundaries and had a run rate of 170.45 runs. Faf Du Plessis on the other hand scored 56 runs off 38 balls. SRH bowlers couldn’t break their partnership until the 13th over.

Reason 3: Rashid Khan lacked support 

Rashid Khan was the only player who managed to take away three wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali and Faf Du Plessis. No other player in the team could take away wickets. He lacked major support from his team.
