IPL teams Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore faced each other on April 27. The toss was won by Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant and he chose bowling. However, Delhi Capitals lost against Royal Challengers Bangalore by a single run. Here are three reasons why Delhi lost in the match.

Reasons why Delhi Capitals lost against Royal Challengers Bangalore 

Reason 1: AB De Villiers’ game took RCB to a brilliant total 

AB De Villiers played extremely well in the match yesterday. The South African player walked in at the third number during the ninth over. He had a strong partnership with Rajat Patidar until Patidar was bowled. AB managed to score 75 runs off only 42 deliveries which contributed to the big score of RCB. He managed to hit 3 boundaries and 5 sixes. He played till the end and brought RCB’s score to 171 with 5 wickets.

Reason 2: RCB spinners kept things tight in the middle overs

The Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers made sure the opposite team does not score enough runs in the middle overs. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled two overs and gave away 10 runs. Harshal Patel on the other hand bowled 4 overs giving away 37 runs. He took away two wickets in the middle overs. However, Washinton Sundar bowled extremely well conceding only 28 runs off four overs. They made sure that Delhi Capitals would not be able to reach the target runs.

Reason 3: Rishabh Pant was too cautious with his approach 

The overall performance of Delhi Capitals players seemed poor yesterday. Shikhar Dhawan lost his wicket after scoring only 6 runs out of 7 balls. Captain Rishabh managed to score 58 runs off 48 balls. He played extremely cautiously to not lose his wicket. Shimron on the other hand managed to score 53 runs off 25 balls and helped the team reach the target. Siraj bowled the final over and made sure to not give away runs to Pant. The team fell short of only one run in the end.
