April 2021 saw the commencement of this year’s IPL season with teams returning to the fields yet again to compete against each other. The team of Rajasthan Royals (RR) played against that of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), in one of the recent matches and lost to the latter. Here’s why RR got defeated by RCB by 10 wickets in the match help on April 22.

In the 16th match of IPL 2021, on April 22, Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Rajasthan Royals and turned winners. The defeat of RR by RCB precisely took place by 10 wickets with a total of 21 balls remaining in the innings. One of the biggest reasons behind RR’s loss in the game was the poor performance of their top-order batsmen.

They failed miserably with being reduced to 18 runs with 3 wickets down already only within 4.3 overs. Opening batsmen Jos Buttler and Manan Vohra scored only 8 and 7 runs each, respectively before their wickets were taken. The RR captain Sanju Samson scored 21 runs while David Miller could not get in even 1 run before getting out.

Secondly, Rajasthan Royals failed to stay on the field towards the end of the game as well. The 7th, 8th and 9th batsmen, namely Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris and Chetan Sakariya of RR lost their wickets all at the same score of 170 runs. Lastly, RR bowlers were unable to take any of RCB’s wickets, failing to break RCB’s opening stand of 181 runs.

They finished the match while defeating RR within just 16.3 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to bowl and chase RR’s score after winning the toss, which they succeeded at doing very well. RCB skipper Virat Kohli scored 72 runs while the other opening batsman, Devdutt Padikkal secured a total of 101 runs leading to RCB’s win.
