“Yeah it is a terrible feeling to lose 3 in a row, you never want to do that,” said AB de Villiers, when asked about how it felt to have 3 losses at the business end of the season. Further, when asked about the approach for their next match against Delhi Capitals to be held on Monday, the RCB cricketer said, “That is the nature of the tournament, anything can happen. If you lose 3 in a row, you could win 3 in a row as well. So that will be our thinking moving forward, one step at a time.’
AB de Villiers agreed that their next match with the team of Delhi Capitals on November 2, 2020, would be a crucial one for RCB. “The Delhi game is a big game, we all know that,” he said. “We are going to have to come out with our best cricket on that day. And if we do, then things are going to look up very well for us,” AB added about how different their approach would be for the said match.
When asked as to where the team failed while batting, assuming that a higher total could have been aimed for, AB de Villiers revealed that they had initially set their target to be 160. According to him, 160 was a little high, so eventually, they brought it down to 140. They felt it would be a good score. “Look, first of all, credits to them, they bowled exceptionally well. From the word go, they didn’t give us a lot of boundary balls,” he added acknowledging SRH’s bowling.
Although AB de Villiers said that RCB was aiming for a 140 at least, RCB lost to SRH after scoring 120 runs on October 31, 2020, in Sharjah. Royal Challengers Bangalore is now set to play against the Delhi Capitals team on Monday at 7:30 pm IST in Abu Dhabi. This will be RCB’s fourteenth match in this season of the tournament.
