During the post-match press conference, Shubman Gill was asked about losing the wickets in the middle overs. Shubman Gill said that in the middle overs they were still going well. He mentioned that in 9 overs they were at 90 odd runs for the loss of 3 wickets but after the loss of Eoin Morgan’s wicket, they just lost momentum. Eoin Morgan played a crucial knock of 40 runs in just 25 balls. His partnership with Shubman Gill helped them put up a score of 149 on board. After the loss of Eoin Morgan’s wicket, KKR kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. A short cameo by Lockie Ferguson towards the end of the innings also played an important role in KKR’s total.

Talking about the target, Shubman Gill said that they fell 15-20 runs short. He said that they could not rotate the strike in the middle overs thus falling short by 20 odd runs.
