IPL 2020: Ben Stokes And Sanju Samson Give Rajasthan Royals A Well-Earned Win

Rajasthan Royals faced off Mumbai Indians recently in IPL 2020. The team chased off a difficult target of 196 runs under 19 overs itself with the loss of two wickets, which is an astonishing feat in itself. However, the talking point of the match was the successful partnership between Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson of 153 runs. While Ben Stokes ended up hitting 107 runs without losing his wicket, Sanju Samson smashed 54 runs not out too.  After the match had ended, captain of RR, Steve Smith expressed that he is very pleased and that this win is what the team of Rajasthan Royals were crying for in the league. After the match, captain Steve Smith took to the stage in the post-match press conference and stated that Ben and Sanju used the experience they had on-field and implemented it on to the game. The skipper expressed furthermore that there was an intent in the game and that the partnership between Stokes and Samson was fantastic. Later on, Smith inspired the players of his team stating that they should take confidence from the extended chase they successfully overcome which he believes could help the team in emerging as victorious in the league.

Talking about the first half,  Smith expressed that the team did manage to play good cricket but the dropped chances proved costly. He also expressed that some of the mistakes which occurred in the first half costed the team to lose another 40-45 runs. He wishes for his batting line up to gain confidence with the chase and emerge victorious in future games.

While Rajasthan Royals became all the rage with their difficult chase, Mumbai Indians also made major headlines with Hardik Pandya scoring 60 runs in just 21 balls. He smashed seven sixes and two fours in his entertaining inning. On the other hand, the bowling side of both the teams had also garnered a lot of attention during the match.

Bowler Jofra Archer could be seen imitating Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling style in one of his deliveries which set social media joking about the same. Overall, Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson ensured a comfortable win for their team.
