Mumbai Indians (MI) registered their first win of the season as they thumped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After a disappointing match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) last time, MI skipper Rohit Sharma returned to form as he smacked 810 runs off just 54 deliveries. His exploits helped MI reach a mammoth total of 195/5. KKR, however, looked rusty on the night with both batting and bowling as they lost the game by a hefty margin of 49 runs. One of the talking points for the game, which may have affected the outcome, is Rohit Sharma’s batting masterclass.

When it comes to time the ball, there’s no one better in the business than the MI skipper. He smacked six humongous sixes to complete his double century of sixes in the IPL. Secondly, KKR’s inability to put pressure on Sharma and team as despite taking an early wicket, KKR conceded way too many runs in the power play. And thirdly, MI’s bowling prowess. Unlike their KKR counterparts, the MI bowlers maintained their composure and bowled in the right areas. The MI bowlers made it difficult for their opponents to win.
