Instagram Launches Reels As An Alternative For TikTok

After the Indian government bans Tiktok in India, Instagram launches ‘reels’ as an alternative to the Chinese video-sharing app.

A few weeks back, the Indian government decided to ban around 59 Chinese apps due to privacy and security issues. Among these 59 apps, Tiktok, Shein, Club Factory were among the most popular in India. So now, American photo and video-sharing social networking service app, Instagram has launched ‘reels’ as an alternative to Chinese video-sharing app, Tiktok.

On Instagram, the Netizens can enjoy having a similar experience like Tiktok where they will be able to create a 15 secs video and share it on social media platforms. Instagram was testing reels for a quite some time and now it has finally launched it in India.

After the ban imposed on Chinese apps, many local apps like Mitron, Chingari has also gained a great market share in India. Many other competitors of Tiktok are also trying to gain momentum in the Indian market.
