The third test match between India and England is ‘live’ at Gujarat’s Motera stadium. The day-night pink ball test has commenced on the world’s largest stadium ground. Hence, for the past few days, the cricket ground is making headlines all across the nation. The stadium holds the capacity of 1,10,000 spectators but for the recent match, only 55,000 are allowed following COVID-19 protocols.

It is the same cricket ground that made headlines for hosting the ‘Namaste Trump’ event a year ago. While fans are enjoying watching India and England battle for the World Test Championship, they are also eager to know more about this new cricket stadium. One Of Its Kind

The complex of Motera stadium compiles of two practise grounds with nine pitches and other eleven, each diverse in different conditions. This will help the players experience different variations and to shape their skills accordingly. Each dressing room in the stadium is interconnected to two gyms. Trainers, physios and coaches have individual space available.

A Great Viewing Experience

The widespread stadium will be a great viewing experience for the cricket fans. The absence of floodlight towers and pillars will give them a clear and unrestricted view of the on-field action. In case of heavy rains, a special drainage system has been built which allows the match to resume within 30 minutes. The stadium has a spacious parking lot that can be reserved for 3,000 cars and 10,000 two-wheelers.

World’s Largest Cricket Stadium

The Motera stadium has the capacity of housing 1,10,000 spectators. It can hold more people than Chennai’s MA Chidambaram, Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswami, and Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium put together. The Motera stadium has broken the record of Australia’s Melbourne stadium which has a capacity to house 1,00,000 spectators.
