India’s COVID-19 Tally Breaches 57 Lakh Mark, Recovery Rate At 81.55 Percent
More than 86,000 people tested positive on one single day.
The number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in India has breached the 57 lakh mark. As many as 57,32,518 people have been infected by the coronavirus disease in the country so far, while 86,508 of them have tested positive in a day. Over 46 lakh people have recovered from the disease as well, bringing the national recovery rate to 81.55 percent, according to the latest chunk of data that has been released by the Union Health Ministry.
There are currently 9,66,382 active cases of COVID-19 in India. As for the death toll due to the disease, it has climbed to 91,149, with 1,129 people having succumbed to it in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries in the country has surged to 46,74,987. The COVID-19 case fatality rate due to the coronavirus infection has reached 1.59 percent. India is currently in its Unlock phases wherein a phased lifting of the lockdowns imposed in March is going on.
