The month of August proved to be a good month for businesses in India. The automobile manufactures restocked their inventory channels and are expecting sales to increase in the upcoming months. Several automakers are of the view that sales will improve as festival time is near. According to the news reports, automobile market leader Maruti’s growth was marginally higher than expected. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai experienced robust sales last month. Mahindra and Mahindra also experienced a marginal rise of 1 per cent. South Korean automotive manufacturer, KIA motors also posted strong growth figures.
The sales majorly came from rural sectors. However, industry experts are sceptical if the demand will continue to rise after the festive season. The cost of owning a car has also increased after the implementation of BS 6 emission norms.
