Indian Army Felicitates The COVID-19 Warriors In J&K’s Poonch

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone globally. People from the medical industry have worked extremely hard day and night to help the patients recover. In Jammu and Kashmir, an initiative was taken by the Indian army and the local people to felicitate the COVID-19 warriors in the union territories. Take a look at the video:

Indian Army felicitates COVID-19 warriors

The Indian Army and residents of Poonch area in Jammu and Kashmir have taken a pledge to defeat the coronavirus. A program was organised by the Indian army and the gram panchayat in the Poonch area in Jammu and Kashmir. They built tents for the COVID-19 warriors and other locals to witness the event. All the COVID-19 warriors in the area were felicitated with gifts one by one by the Indian Army personnel. They all wore masks as a safety measure to avoid the virus. In the end, they all pledged to fight the virus and bring their lives back to normal.

The Sarpanch Mohd Jameel of the Poonch area in Jammu and Kashmir said, “I am thankful to the entire force of the Indian Army to join hands with us and organise this event. Along with the army, even the police has helped us a lot.” He added that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the people in Poonch has faced a lot, like all other citizens. He said that the gifts and kits given to the warriors will surely help them and their families. He also said that such events should be organised frequently to motivate people to work harder. Also, people were made aware of the safety measures to be taken in such times and were given hope that everything will soon be back to normal.

Jammu currently has 596 active COVID-19 cases but the recovery rate seems to be high. However, including all the districts, there are more than 5000 active cases in the Union territory currently. The COVID-19 warriors are trying their best to help the patients recover.

Earlier today, Four suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were hiding in a truck filled with weapons and travelling. They were stopped at the Ban toll plaza in Nagrota which is on the outskirts of Jammu. Soon after that, there were explosions in the truck. They were killed in the encounter with security forces and 2 police officers were injured in this. The truck driver is missing but a large number of weapons and grenades were recovered from the truck.
