England had set an impressive target of 420 runs for Team India on Day 4. India’s batting line-up has impressive players like Shubhman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma has the highest test run rate after England’s Don Bradman. When Rohit Sharma entered the field, he started playing cautiously, and he did not score a single run in 13 balls. But after scoring a four and six, he was back to the pavilion.

Rohit Sharma’s caliber as a batsman is very well-known, but his consistent poor performances is a cause of concern for team India. It was expected that Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill manage a good score and help India chase the 420 runs target set by the opposition. After Rohit Sharma’s wicket, the England team got an upper hand and since the ball was anyway spinning, it was good news for bowlers like Jofra Archer.

Talking about Rohit Sharma’s batting partner Shubhman Gill, the batsman started off on a good note. But Rohit Sharma’s wicket, affected Gill’s performance since the pressure started building up since that point. Cheteshwar Pujara was slowly building runs in his signature style. Day 4 is an extremely important day for the team considering the current score and wickets.

On Day 5, the Indian team needs to stay on the field and not give any chance to opposition to take advantage of the pitch or the weather. Scoring runs is of course the priority, but the batsmen also need to make it at a quicker pace. After Rohit Sharma, India’s performance dwindled, hence being defensive is not an option on Day 5. Shubhman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara’s partnership is the deciding factor on Day 5.
