Reports say that the ‘permanent players’ could face a threat from the ‘temporary players’ and that only the captain, Virat Kohli, and the vice-captain, Rohit Sharma, have their places fixed in the team. The first reason for this is that captain Virat Kohli has a lot of player options to select from, for the playing team. The second reason is that Virat Kohli has mentioned multiple times that he aims to be unpredictable for the opposite team, and a change of players, could disrupt the opposing team’s strategy.
The third reason, as per the reports, is Virat Kohli’s ‘likes and dislikes’ in terms of players. And the fourth reason is that the new players are on a task to prove their worth, which is a great plus point for their performance. Due to this fourth reason, the good performance of this new player, who comes to replace a ‘permanent player’ on the team, could become a danger for the permanent player.
Recently, new players like Ishaan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav displayed their skills in the game during the last T20 series with England. Akshar Pathak also gave a brilliant performance in the test series with England. And very recently, in the first ODI match of the ODI series with England, Prasidh Krishna showed his excellent bowling skills, which made the cricket fans cheer. Hence, these new players who have been giving great performances could make it tough for the captain to choose his next team of players.
