Heatwave In North-West Region, Heavy Rainfall In West Coast Predicted By IMD
The IMD, on 17 June, has predicted heatwave conditions over the north-western region and heavy rainfall activity along the west coast in the upcoming days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Wednesday (June 17), has predicted heatwave conditions over the north-western region and heavy rainfall activity along the west coast in the upcoming days. According to IMD, “Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions expected over West Rajasthan and heatwave conditions over East Rajasthan and Punjab during next 2-3 days.” Whereas widespread rainfall activity very likely along the West Coast with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Coastal Karnataka and Konkan & Goa during next 5 days, also predicted IMD.

The IMD, on June 16, has confirmed that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash over the states of Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar during the next two to three days. On its official Twitter handle, the IMD said, “Isolated to fairly widespread rainfall with an isolated thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds very likely over Western Himalayan Region and plains of northwest India during 19th-21st June.” The same has been predicted over Northeast, East and adjoining Central India during the next five days.
