Ignored By Authorities, Village In Uttar Pradesh Starts Building Road On Its Own
Tired of complaining to authorities, villagers pick up their own tools to build road.
People of Uttar Pradesh’s Marui village near Lucknow have taken it upon themselves to build a road leading to their village. The people of the village say they’ve grown tired of complaining to authorities about the building of the road, which they claim is not even good enough to be walking on. This development comes at a time when the Uttar Pradesh Government is hailing the development initiatives in the state. The gutters along the road too haven’t been fixed or cleaned in a while.
Samajwadi Party MLA, Ambrish Singh Pushkar has blamed the state government for not providing enough funds for the development of the road. He revealed that he has requested funds to be diverted to Marui in several Assembly Sessions but nothing has been done as yet. The villagers have now brought their own tools to dig up and build the road from scratch.
