ICC Teams Of The Decade: MS Dhoni Named Captain Of T20I And ODI Teams, Virat Kohli Named Test Captain
The International Cricket Council, on the occasion of the decade ending, summed up the last ten years of cricket by naming the teams of the decade.
With the year 2020 coming to an end, we’ll also witness the end of a decade. This past decade we saw a lot of ups and downs in every field – entertainment, politics, and sports. ICC named MS Dhoni as the captain of both the ODI and T20 teams! Our very own Captain Cool was named as the captain of ODI and T20 teams, and rightly so. Under his captainship, India won the World Cup in 2011. Apart from that, time and again, he proved to be one of the best captains of the Indian Cricket team.
Besides him, ICC also placed Indian players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the ICC’s ODI team of the decade. Here, Rohit Sharma was named one of the openers of the team.
MS Dhoni was also named the captain of the T20 team. Along with him, the ICC also placed Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma in the T20 team.
Coming to the test teams, Virat Kohli was named the Captain of the Test teams. Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin also made it to the test team of the decade.
Australian cricketer Meg Lanning was named the Captain of the Women’s T20 team. Indian players Harmanpreet Kaur and Poonam Yadav were also a part of the team.
Meg Lanning was also named the Captain of the Women’s ODI team and the Indian player Mithali Raj was one of the players named in the Women’s ODI team of the decade, by ICC.
