The Serum Institute of India has confirmed that human trials in India will go on as per schedule.
Today, the entire world is eagerly waiting for the anti-Coronavirus vaccine. There were high hopes from Oxford University and AstraZeneca’s vaccine as they were front runners in the vaccine race. However, the final stage of clinical trials of this vaccine has been halted after a volunteer complained of having an adverse reaction. According to the sources, an independent committee will be set to ascertain the cause of the reaction. On the other hand, the Serum Institute of India has issued a statement to clear the air on the impending trials of the vaccine and so the clinical trials will continue in India.
CEO of Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawalla confirmed that trials in India will go on as per schedule. AstraZeneca has described this pause as a routine action and will restart the trails once the UK regulation agency gives its go-ahead.
