The shoot of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha remake has been delayed due to the new delta variant of Covid. Following this, the makers are planning to move their shooting base.

The 2017 Tamil blockbuster Vikram Vedha garnered critical acclaim as well as great response from the audience. Going by which, this hit crime saga made headlines again for an ‘obvious’ Bollywood remake. It was reported that Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan have been roped in to play the lead roles. While the makers had planned to go on floors by early 2021, the ongoing pandemic became a cause for delay. And now it seems that the film has hit another roadblock!

Upon easing of Covid-19 restrictions all across the country, the makers of the Vikram Vedha remake had planned to initiate the shoot from mid-July. On the other hand, the actors were already prepping to get back on the sets. However, as per the new reports, the ‘new delta variant’ of Covid has now come as a troublemaker for the shoots amid the town.

Due to this, the makers have planned to shift their shooting base to another country. Reportedly, the Mumbai portion will be shot once things get back to normal. “It wasn’t an easy call to take, no doubt, but the fact that it’s going to be a costly set made the makers take the safer route rather than be sorry later,” a source close to the film revealed.

Well, it seems that the new delta variant of Covid might play a spoilsport in many of the ‘already delayed’ projects. Also, it remains to be seen how the big-budget Bollywood films cope up with the foreseeable restrictions. For those unversed, many films are set to have a theatrical release in the coming months.

Getting back to the Vikram Vedha remake, Hrithik and Saif will be seen sharing screen space for the first time. And this is something that has gotten the fans highly excited. While Hrithik will play a goon, Saif will get under the skin of a loyal cop. For those unaware, the original Tamil flick starred Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan in the lead roles.
