Hotels In UP’s Ballia Can Now House COVID-19 Patients On Payment Basis

The state has issued guidelines to hotels for the housing of positive cases.

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced guidelines for hotels in the city of Ballia that are aimed at housing COVID-19 positive cases. These hotels will be used for housing asymptomatic and mildly ailing patients who will be given L1 Plus facilities there. Hotels have been asked to charge a maximum fee of Rs 2,000 for a double occupancy room and Rs 1,500 for a single occupancy room per day. A team of at least four doctors will be available every time in these hotels.

Provisions of food and cleaning of the rooms will be provided by the hotel owners. The COVID-19 positive patients will also have to deposit a lump sum of Rs 2,000 in the Chief Minister’s Office. The city of Ballia was recently put into a 1-week lockdown in view of the rising Coronavirus cases. District Head Hari Pratap Shahi has also imposed a lockdown in Rasda and its surrounding areas, which will last from July 18-25, 2020.
