Heavy Waterlogging And Traffic Jams In Delhi-NCR As Rains Continue For Second Day
Gurugram, Faridabad have reported severe waterlogging and traffic jams following the continuous showers
Heavy rains continue to lash Delhi and many parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) for the second consecutive day. Serious questions on the administration of the capital city arise, as areas like Gurugram and Faridabad suffer severe waterlogging and flood-like situations.
Footage showing massive traffic jams in Gurugram, with cars struggling to get by in water logged roads, have emerged in the last two days. The showers have turned critical routes including the Delhi-Jaipur national highway into a river. Honda Chowk and Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram are completely inundated. These are essential locations connecting large-scale corporate offices and businesses in the Cyber City.
However, in positive news, the Gurugram police, traffic police and the civil defence staff have been stationed at various locations and are working relentlessly by guiding drivers and pedestrians to safety.
Mathura Road, just two kilometres away from the capital’s central secretariat has been facing the wrath of the rains with a heavy stream of traffic and water infested roads. Other affected areas include Prahladpur, Nangloi , Jhilmil Colony and Saket, from where enormous waterlogging, traffic and property damage have been reported.
