Hathras Case: Yogi Government Orders Narco-Analysis Test For Victim’s Family Members

After the disastrous incident that took place in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, where a 20-year-old Dalit girl was raped by four upper-caste men the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to suspend the SP (Superintendent of Police), DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police), Inspector and some others officials, for their negligence and unprofessionalism in handling the case. Hathras DM Praveen Kumar Laxkar is also on the radar. The DM faced a lot of criticism and backlash after a video of him forcing the victim’s family to change their statement went viral. According to the latest reports, the UP government has ordered to get narco-analysis test of victim’s family members.
Activist Saket Gokhale who had filed a petition in the Allahabad high court against the State government orders of conducting a narco test. The family members of the victim refused to undergo the test stating that the DM, SP and other police officials should be the ones to undergo the test as they are clearly lying.
