Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently spoke to the press regarding the distribution of vaccine and how they have been planning to execute it. CM Khattar ridiculed the accusation that the vaccine has been taking more time than anticipated as he believes that the pandemic is global and proper co-operation is very important in such a case. He stated that the vaccines will be distributed in phases so that the process is easy and effective in every way. CM Khattar also made it clear that the state will be providing free vaccinations for the poor but a certain section might have to pay for it since there is a lot of expense involved in its making and distribution.

Here is a look at the ZEE5 video with details related to CM Khattar’s statements at the recent press conference:

CM Khattar was initially asked about the delay in the availability of vaccines as most citizens feel that there is some politics involved in its process. At this accusation, he said that all he can do is laugh at it since he believes that the allegations over BJP are baseless in this case. He said, “All I can do is laugh over this. This COVID year is not just a difficult time for our state or country, but also for the entire world and humankind. Even in such a situation, these people have been bringing politics instead of coordinating and making things easier for everyone. This is not a matter that concerns just one person or BJP. Every country around the world has been busy dealing with this global pandemic.”

Regarding the distribution process, he said, “The best part is that India has played a huge role in the development of these vaccines. We have two vaccines currently and they cannot be distributed to everyone at the same time. So we have made phases for this purpose. In the first phase, the frontline workers will be vaccinated. We have close to 1 and a half crore COVID warriors and they will be given the first priority.”

Manohar Lal Khattar also stated that the vaccine will be free for the poor but some people might have to pay for it. He said, “The vaccines will be of a different kind. The poor will get for free. Since there is a lot of expense involved, it will be good is some people co-operate and help us subsidize.”
