Harry Potter Is Playing Quidditch At London’s Leicester Square
The famous JK Rowling character of Harry potter became the 9th statue to be unveiled at London’s Scenes in the Square
The all-time favourite character of Harry Potter has now joined the illustrious path of eternal cinema characters in London’s Leicester Square. The bronze statue that is modelled around actor Danielle Radcliffe, who played the protagonist in the multi-part iconic movie, was officially unveiled yesterday.
The figure, flying a Nimbus 2000 broom over the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch is based on a scene from the Harry potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film. Many youngsters were seen admiring the installation and taking selfies along with the much-loved wizard.
This sculpture becomes the ninth addition to the interactive ‘Scenes in the Square’ trail that celebrates Britain’s love for cinema by featuring highly recognisable classic and contemporary movie personas.
The trail that includes statues of other immortals like Mary Poppins, Bugs Bunny, Batman and Wonder Woman, is a free to visit area.
