Actor Prosenjit needs no introduction. A maven in the Bengali and Hindi film industry, Prosenjit has starred in a vast number of movies during his career, which has spanned over 40 years now! Prosenjit made his acting debut in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Chotto Jigyasa, as a child actor. He has not looked back since, winning the hearts of millions of ardent fans who admire him for his brilliant talent and suave personality. Prosenjit celebrates his birthday on September 30, and we got you these films which you will enjoy watching in his honour.

1. Nirontor

Nirontor is a 2020 Bengali drama film which pays a soul stirring tribute to life and relationships. Directed by Chandrasish Ray, Nirontor follows the tale of Biplab (Prosenjit) and Bhaskar (Satyam Bhattacharya)– two engineers who go to a remote region in the hills of North Bengal together on an office trip to scout for an ideal location to construct a hotel. The two of them make an unlikely duo, but strike up a great friendship. Soon, a tragedy strikes, which changes everything.

2. Jyeshthoputro

Jyeshthoputro (2019) is a Bangla film directed by Kaushik Ganguly. It stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, and Gargi Roychowdhury in the lead. The story is about Tollywood superstar Indrajit Gangopadhyay, who goes home after ages  upon receiving news of his father’s death. Will he welcomed back by his people? Or are they resentful of his prolonged absence all these years? Jyeshthoputro’s original story was conceived by maverick filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh.

3. Drishtikone

Drishtikone is a 2018 Bengali drama film starring Prosenjit, Rituparna Sengupta, Churni Ganguly, and Kaushik Ganguly. When Srimoti loses her husband in a car accident, she suspects foul play and hires a lawyer named Jiyon Mitra, who is struggling with eyesight problems. During the investigation, Srimoti and Jiyon get attracted to each other, which creates problems in Jiyon’s married life.

4. Praktan

Praktan is a 2016 Bengali romantic drama film starring Prosenjit and Rituparna Sengupta– an iconic duo on the big screen. The film was the highest grossing Bengali film of the year and won an award at the International Film Business Awards 2016. The story revolves around Ujaan and Sudipa, a couple who parted ways due to their differences. Years later, they meet while travelling in a train from Mumbai to Howrah. The film explains the complexities of modern day relationships.
