Whoever says that modern-day fairy tales don’t exist, should take a look at the adorable film Rajaratha, starring Nirup Bhandari as Abhi and Avantika Shetty as Megha. Directed by the talented Anup Bhandari, this film is one of the best examples of modern day fairy tales. It follows the story of a bus called Rajaratha (voice given by Puneeth Rajkumar) and the parallel stories of the passengers in it. In a mix of reality and fiction, the makers of the film have made sure each of the main travellers on the bus is connected. I have already said enough! Today we will look at the track list of the film to give you a better idea of what we mean by fiction and reality.

Mundhe Banni is an excellent song sung by the director of the film Rajaratha, Anup Bhandari. It is filled with motivation and zeal. As the title suggests, the crux of the song suggests you to ‘come forward‘ (Mundhe Banni). The track will make you move to the groove!

2. College Days

This is one song that brings the fictional aspect into play and indulges the viewers to see Abhi’s four-year engineering life. Through the song, College Days, sung by Nakul Abhyankar, Abhi’s life in his college quickly passes by in a jiffy. A good song to remember your college days and how soon it went by, right?

3. Hele Meghave

When the Rajaratha bus breaks to a halt on the mountains because of a mishap ahead, Abhi and Megha plan to go for a quick hike. Hele Meghave, sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar, is another fictional setting song, which will make you drift into another world, the world of romance. Listening to this song during the rains will soothe your soul!

4. Gandaka

P Ravishankar’s short appearance in Rajaratha gives the whole fictional aspect of some meaning. He plays the role of a man living in the interiors of the forest. While his role is only for 15 mins or so, he plays an important part in bringing Abhi and Megha closer! One of the songs in which you can see his efforts is Gandaka, sung by Anup Bhandari, Ravishankar and  Inchara Rao.

5. Banana Song

A cute song if you want to cheer your mate. It has the humour aspect but I am sure many of you can perform a waltz brilliantly on it too. Plus, you get the added bonus of seeing Mr Ravishankar dance to the song, sung by director Anup Bhandari!

6. Appi Tappi

Abhi is heart-broken when he learns that he has to cut short his trip with his love Megha, to return to his family. In this song, sung by Deepak Doddera, Abhi stops himself from accidentally telling the truth to Megha about his feelings. A melodious tune, this one!

7. Saago Saago

Coming back to reality, a candle march takes place after the riots on Rajaratha’s journey to Chennai. If you look closely, you will spot the gorgeous Sruthi Hariharan in a cameo role just before the song Saago Saago, sung by Deepak Doddera. While the ending is emotional, it is a happy one I assure you. That’s it for the spoilers!
