A couple of days back, four Indian women pilots created history as they flew over the North pole and covered the longest flight route. As they landed safely after completing the journey of about 16,000 km, they became a living example of women empowerment. And, not only in the real-world but in reel-world too, women are shining like a bright star. And, it seems like they will keep shining as their upcoming releases will picture the story from a woman’s perspective. We think you shouldn’t miss watching these five 2021 releases if women-oriented stories interest you.
1. Gangabai Kathiawadi
Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt, who impressed the critics with her performance in Raazi, is all set to portray a real-life character on the screen. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next directorial venture, Alia will step into the shoes of Gangubai, a brothel owner. Interestingly, it will mark her first collaboration with Bhansali.
After giving a stellar performance in a short film, titled Devi, Kajol is gearing up to add another women-oriented project in her repertoire. Along with Kajal, Little Things fame Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi will also play the lead in the film. Interestingly, the hat of the director is also donned by a female filmmaker, Renuka Sahane. Talking about the title, Tribhanga, it is derived from an Indian classical dance pose which is described as imperfect but beautiful.
3. Madam Chief Minister
It seems like in the year 2021, Bollywood actor Richa Chadha is going to prove her acting prowess while flaunting her versatility. Recently, she grabbed the headlines for his upcoming social-drama Madam Chief Minister. In the trailer of the film, she was seen sporting a never-seen-before avatar. The trailer of the film has also bagged praises from the audience.
4. Rashmi Rocket
If we have to choose a Bollywood actor who can be a good pick for being the flag-bearer of redefining the women-oriented content in the showbiz, missing out on Taapsee Pannu is impossible. In her next, Rashmi Rocket, the actor will portray the character of a Gujarat-based sprinter, who makes it to nationals.
5. Deepika Padukone’s next
Well, the makers of Deepika Padukone‘s next film haven’t revealed the title yet, this upcoming film is said to be a women-oriented film. The Shakun Batra directorial will also feature Ananya Pandey and Sidhant Chaturvedi. Karan Johar will produce the film under his production banner.
