French President Emmanuel Macron Tests Positive For Covid-19; PM Modi Wishes Him A “Speedy Recovery”
The officials of Elysee Palace stated that Macron and his team are trying to assess where he could have contracted the infection.

On Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron went into isolation for seven days after testing positive Coronavirus. After getting aware of the “first symptoms” a PCR test was performed on the president. The reports also added that Emmanuel will continue to work and take care of his activities from a distance. The president’s wife, Brigitte Macron is also self-isolating, although she is not showing any symptoms.
“This diagnosis was made following a PCR test performed at the onset of the first symptoms. He will continue to work and take care of his activities at a distance,” the president’s office briefly stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle to wish the French president a “speedy recovery” and the “best of health”.

The officials of Elysee Palace stated that Macron and his team are trying to assess where he could have contracted the infection. Meanwhile, Macron will cancel all upcoming trips, including a December 22 visit to Lebanon. Following the news, French Prime Minister Jean Castex will also be self-isolated after his contact with Macron. Castex showed no symptoms but will no longer be going to the French Senate on Thursday to outline his government’s vaccine strategy to combat the pandemic.
The recent records state that the second wave of the pandemic has badly affected the French continent as it became the first region to mark 5,00,000 Covid deaths.
