French Government Asks People To Consume More Cheese To Normalise Economy
After Belgium, France urges its people to purchase and eat more cheese to bring the demand-supply curve back to normal.
The French government is encouraging its people to eat more cheese. Due to the lockdown, restaurants and hotels across France had to shut down, which ultimately resulted in a 60% drop in the sale of cheese. Therefore, to bring the demand-supply graph back to normal, people are requested to purchase and consume cheese. Previously, Belgium had asked its people to eat more fries to help heal the economic situation in the country.
People in France were afraid to consume cheese as they thought it would adversely affect their health. This fear had put the national economy at risk as thousands of tons of cheese remained unsold. To encourage the people to consume cheese, the French dairy industry came up with the campaign ‘Act For Cheese’. It remains to be seen if this campaign will help the French economy get back on its feet or not.
